Press Release Body: NATO Signs Agreement to Use Aidmatrix Network® for Disaster Relief
Brussels, NATO EADRCC and the Aidmatrix Foundation announced their agreement to set up a partnership to help NATO EADRCC meet the challenge of managing donations in civil disaster scenarios. The agreement is with EADRCC (Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre), NATO's principal civil crisis response mechanism, which coordinates assistance in the Euro-Atlantic area from NATO Allies and Partners to countries that have been struck by a major disaster.
"Right now, we are handling all logistics with whiteboard, spreadsheets and brains", said Guenter Bretschneider, Head of EADRCC. "After witnessing the success of Aidmatrix software solutions during recent emergencies in the US for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), we are convinced that this is the right step for our organization to better handle donations in times of crisis. Aidmatrix Network® will make us faster, more transparent, more efficient."
Shari Temple, Managing Director, Aidmatrix Europe: "Aidmatrix Network® provides a single location to capture and report the full picture of need, donations, and delivery in real time. Whether it is product or volunteers, Aidmatrix Network instantly makes requirements from the field available to potential donors and vice versa. This also prevents unnecessary donations from getting in the way of critical life-saving efforts."
NATO EADRCC plans to launch the Aidmatrix Network® in late September. It will be available to 63 countries. These are the 50 Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) member countries - NATO Allies and Partners, the "Mediterranean Dialogue Countries", the "Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Countries" as well as Afghanistan and Kosovo.
